Five Things That Can Derail Your Wedding Day Timeline

We want your wedding to be AMAZING, and a solid wedding day timeline will help you get there!  It can be an incredibly useful tool, but these five mistakes can make your wedding day timeline your worst enemy!

1. TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN LOCATIONS

As much as possible, keep your travel to a minimum on your wedding day. Does your venue have a bridal suite you can get ready in? Can you do your wedding photos at the ceremony or reception sites or at a location very close to either? The less travel you have to do on your wedding day, the more time you have to actually enjoy your wedding day!

2. YOU DIDN’T LEAVE ANY BUFFERS

If I had a dollar for every time a family member disappeared when it was time for family photos or a member of the bridal party got stuck in traffic, or hair and makeup ran long, or all the other things that can delay your timeline happened, I’d be retired. It’s really important to give yourself buffers so that your timeline is a useful tool that adds to your day, not a constant source of stress.

3. YOU PUT TOO MANY THINGS IN YOUR TIMELINE

You don’t get married every day so it’s natural to want to have ALL THE THINGS!!!! But it’s only one day. It’s really important to prioritize the things most important to you and base your timeline around that. You want to be able to truly enjoy the things that matter the most instead of rushing through them because there’s something else to do right after.

4. YOU DIDN’T SCHEDULE TIME WITH YOUR LOVE

It can be easy to lose sight of what’s the MOST important reason you’re doing all this; you want to spend the rest of your life with the person you love more than anything in the world! So don’t just leave quality time with your new spouse to chance.
